When was Chembulk Tankers created?

  • Chembulk was formed in January 2007 when CEO Bob Burke and AMA controlled ACP Fund II acquired the fleet from MT Maritime Management. In December 2007, Chembulk was acquired by P.T. Berlian Laju Tankers Tbk., resulting in an organization that boasts that third largest stainless steel tanker fleet in the world.

Why was Chembulk Tankers established?

  • To be a cutting edge provider of marine transportation for the chemical industry deploying 21st century stainless steel chemical carriers built to the industry’s highest specifications.  It has a commitment to excellence in all aspects demanded by a competitive commercial and regulatory arena. Chembulk combines commercially sound business acumen with rigorous operational oversight ensuring seamless transportation of customer cargoes.

How large is the fleet?

  • The Chembulk fleet currently consists of eighteen 21st Century high specification stainless steel chemical tankers, with another to be delivered in 2009.  All the ships were built to accommodate current and future regulations on the environment and safety.
